Emotion-Focused Coping Strategies As Predictors of New Inmates’ Adjustment in the Pandemic Era


 This study aims to (1) find out the emotion-focused coping strategies used by new inmates in Class IIA Female Correctional Facility of Malang City, (2) understand illustration inmates’ adjustment, (3) whether is a predictor adjustment. employs predictive- quantitative research with descriptive analysis and applies simple linear regression on population at City. The uses one-shot tryout technique. subjects were selected using saturated sample 118 respondents. instruments adaptation Prison Adjustment Questionnaire (PAQ) Ways Coping Scale (WCQ). categorization based T value, while hypothesis testing techniques. resulted an accepted significance value 0.014, R 0.336, square 0.181, which indicated that contributed emergence self-adjustment 18.1%. use emotion- focused can be develop for correctional environments, addition successfully applied increase self-esteem capacity overcome their problems future.
